. Below are some ideas to begin with:
Throw A Party: What better excuse to get dressed up and have a night out on the town? Everyone wants a reason to go out so why not have you and your friends party for a cause? Whether it be a club event or intimate gathering at your residence, throwing a party is an effective way to raise funds. With social media, the work is all done for you and invitations can be sent to all of your friends within seconds. Many businesses and venues are willing to split the costs with you for a charity event. If you choose to host a party at your residence, inform your friends that you will be requesting donations, charging a small cover fee at the door, or even a fee for a specialty service of your choice. For more ideas or information, please contact Hartman House.
Movie Night: We all enjoy a good movie. Hosting a movie night is a cost-effective way to raise funds for Hartman House, while having fun. Have a theme for the evening, whether it be old Hollywood films, horror films, or your all too favorite chick-flicks will gather a crowd quickly. Let your friends know this is a night for charity. You can get your donations by creating your own concession stand with your favorite goodies or by selling movie tickets for the night.
Car Wash: Gather your family and friends to host a car wash. Find a local business willing to donate their parking lot for the day. Download the Hartman House logo for local traffic to see as they drive by. Even post flyers around town informing the community that you will be hosting a car wash to raise funds for our non-profit.
Yard Sale: Many of us have miscellaneous goods that we no longer use, but would be of value to others. Host a local yard sale. Inform your customers that their purchase will be donated to the Hartman House Foundation whether it is towards a home in Guatemala or to feed a family here in the states.
Barbeque: It is a beautiful day, the sun is shining bright, and you are ready to host a barbeque. With all of your friends bringing their favorite dish it is a great way to spend the weekend over delicious food for a great cause. Inform your local grocery stores and businesses about this event acknowledging that it is for a Hartman House a certified 501c3 non-profit and any food, drinks, or paper goods donated from them will be tax deductible. Each guest can donate upon entry or for their dish or just place a tip jar beside the chef!
Game Night: Make a list of your favorite group games to play with your friends. Whether it is monopoly or Halo who wouldn’t pay to play? Tell your friends to invite their friends, the more the merrier. Make small flyers or an invitation online to let everyone know this is a charitable event.
Bake Sale: This is a great way to raise money, because it requires little to no cost on your behalf. Get out your baking sheet and get started on those delicious cookies, cakes, and scones. Find a local church, school, or business willing to donate their facility for your use. You will need help, ask those around you to donate their best baked goods. To get the most out of your sales, inform your customers that their purchase will be donated to Hartman House for a charitable cause.
Auction: Do you have connections? Do you have access to valuable items that others would be willing to pay for? Well an online or silent auction sounds like the perfect fit for you. These auctions are some of the best ways to raise big money fast for a charitable cause. Bidders will pay more attention to your items knowing that the proceeds will help Hartman House further their mission.
Dinner: Whether a large group or an intimate circle, a dinner party is a classic opportunity to entertain your closest friends. Set up a donation table where your guests can find out what they are donating towards and a little more about Hartman House. Please contact Hartman House for press kits to share at your given function.
Fundraiser: The sky is the limit and it is left to your imagination as to how you will fundraise for Hartman House. You can host a live fundraiser by creating an actual event to raise funds from a fashion show to a walk-a-thon. Even better, join our FirstGiving online fundraising page where you can be as creative as you want. You can walk, run, hike, or bike or give a day, whether it is your birthday, anniversary, or bar-mitzvah, everyone will jump on board to support you in your cause.
