We Heart Japan

Posted by:admin in Untagged

We_Hart_Japan

Hartman House has launched the "We Heart Japan" campaign in an urgent effort to assist our friends in Japan. We have teamed with "Peace Winds" a charity specializing in disaster relief on the ground in Japan. All funds raised will supply traditional Japanese food, water bottles, emergency tents, balloon shelters - holding 100 people each, and bunsen burners to cook with, for those affected by the earthquake and tsunami. The most important reason behind our teaming with Peace Winds was their stand to donate 100% of all donations directly to disaster victims and none to administrative costs.
Saturday, March 26th, Tae Bo® instructors all over the world will be holding a global workout class to raise funds for Japan. This is a huge movement from Team Tae Bo® and we are honored to have so many instructors donate their time to raise money for earthquake and tsunami victims. The classes will be held all around the world on Saturday and we want YOU to be involved.

If for some reason no classes are offered in your area, get out a Tae Bo® DVD and workout from home with your friends and family! You can still be involved in this movement. Then go online and donate directly to Hartman House or to one of the teams fundraising for the cause!

Many of the teams have already begun fundraising online through the Hartman House firstgiving site and donations have been climbing daily. The people in Japan need our help and we are here to give it! It has been inspiring to see so many people come together in an effort to support our friends in Japan in their time of need. Support WE HEART JAPAN!

BUILD GUATEMALA

Posted by:admin in Untagged

For the next four months we are dedicating our fundraising efforts to the building of two homes in Guatemala. Our board members made a trip to Guatemala to meet potential families and get an update on the need in that area.

Monday, February 28th we are launching an exclusive Hartman House website in an effort to rebuild homes for children and families in Guatemala. As you will learn soon enough, we are not just building a home, but a shelter, a safe place, one where police cannot enter and have their way with the children left parentless - treated as if they are disposable. In this video you witness a family who is sticking together regardless of their socio-economic position and even in having no shoes, water, or basic necessities, they are still able to smile knowing that they have each other. These are the families we want to help in Guatemala. Join us in this effort. Build Guatemala will be launched this Monday and we need your help!

2010 Thanksgiving Harvest

Posted by:admin in Untagged

Join the Movement.

What an awesome two weeks of fundraising. In less than 15 days we've met our goal of $3500 to feed 1000 families at our Thanksgiving Harvest. Thank you all so much for your support and willingness to help these families.

All excess funds will be used to purchase side servings for the families to have additional food over the holiday weekend, along with groceries to help them get ahead. Any left over donations will be placed in our prevent hunger fund that assists families in developing nations and the U.S. Thank you for believing in Hartman House and what we do!

Two Little Fairies

Posted by:admin in Untagged

We wanted to give a shout out to our very own Co-Founder - Mr. Butch Hartman. Alongside running a charitable organization, Butch has worked in the cartoon industry since 1986. As the Creator and Executive Producer of hit Nickelodeon animated series, The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom, he has remained highly succesful in the world of animation.

We are excited to announce the release of two new projects. Butch is in the midst of completing a new animated series for Nickelodeon called T.U.F.F. Puppy. In addition to T.U.F.F., Butch and Nickelodeon have joined forces to create the live-action version of the Fairly OddParents! It's a TV movie called "Grow Up, Timmy Turner!" Who would have thought that two little cartoon fairies would one day help build homes for families in Guatemala or feed families in the U.S.? Founder Butch Hartman has used the success of his shows to change the lives of people in the U.S. and developing nations. Just imagine that your support as a viewer is helping us continue our work around the world. Congratulations Butch and keep it up!

Watch Live!

Posted by:admin in Untagged

Watch Live

Today is our very first Battle of the Bands event! Ten bands from all over Northeast Texas are battling it out for one reason: to help feed families in need.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Texas is ranked third in the nation for having the highest percentage of families who are "food insecure." Food insecurity is defined as a family being uncertain of having, or being unable to acquire, enough food for all household members because they have insufficient money and other resources for food.

One of the Hartman House Foundation's primary motives is to prevent hopelessness. If an American family is forced to choose between feeding their family and paying utilities to survive, we need to step up and step out! Tonight's benefit concert will help us raise funds for our 6th annual Thanksgiving Harvest, where we will feed 1000 families this year, if not more!

In order to do this, we need your help. We do a lot of work in developing nations, but we cannot ignore the amount of families struggling to survive in our own backyard. Tune into tonight's live broadcast from Caddo Mills, Texas where you can view the Battle of the Bands event live from your computer screen. We ask that you donate any amount to help us feed these families. Click here to watch last years Thanksgiving Harvest.

In partnership with FISH ministries we will provide families with 15lb frozen turkeys, Thanksgiving fixings, groceries, and the basic necessities they need to feed their families for up to two weeks. I'm sure you've heard this a lot, but every little bit really does help. Unable to donate? Simply spread the word. Our goal is to reach $5000 by the end of the night. Let's go!

Watch LIVE at 4PM CST here!

Battle of the Bands

Battle of the Bands

Did you know....

nearly 49.1 million Americans endure hunger and live in food-insecure households.

These statistics just gathered from FISH ministries, a non-profit organization serving Hunt County:

  • According to 2008 research by the U.S. Department of Agriculture; Household Food Security in the U.S, Texas is ranked 3rd in the nation with the highest percentage of families who are “food insecure.”
  • Food insecurity is defined as a family being uncertain of having, or being unable to acquire, enough food for all household members because they have insufficient money and other resources for food.
  • Here in North Texas, 51% of families must choose between food or paying utilities; 46% must choose between food or paying for housing; 39% must choose between food, medications or medical care.

Well, we are in the midst of planning our very first Hartman House benefit concert. The concert is a "Battle of the Bands" event taking place this weekend in Caddo Mills, Texas. All of the funds raised during the concert will be set aside for our annual Thanksgiving Harvest this November, where we will feed over 1000 families in Hunt County Texas. We're mixing in some talented up and coming artists in the East Texas area. With a wide variety of music, these bands will battle it out for the cause and help prevent hunger right here in Hunt County. Eventually, Hartman House will hit even more cities where hunger is an issue, because no child or family should sleep with an empty stomach, especially in the United States.

Although the concert is taking place in Texas, we would love for you to be a part of this one of a kind event! How? We are working on streaming the event live to Los Angeles (or whichever city you're from) so you can join the party and view the concert from your computer screen. We will be streaming the event live on our website and social media pages. Hope you can join us for this awesome event taking place on Saturday, July 17 from 4PM - 10PM CDT. Remember, this is a fundraiser so anything you can give, no matter where you are, will be used for the cause. Free music, free entertainment, and best of all, a chance to be a part of a community effort to bless families that simply need a helping hand.

LIST OF BANDS (random order):

Welcome to our new Hartman House website. We hope you enjoy the site and are able to learn more about what Hartman House actually does! The website has taken months to complete and we hope you are just as excited about the end product as we are. As you may have already noticed, we have a few significant projects we are dedicating ourselves to this year, including the School of Destiny and the building of a home for a 17 year old boy in Guatemala. Founders Butch and Julieann Hartman started Hartman House in 2005 so they could make a positive change in the world, but what about all the other supporters and activists out there who also want to be involved? Well, look no further, we have developed this new site just for you. Check our Get Involved section for a list of ways you can be involved. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date on our latest projects and specific ways you can help. Maybe even travel with us to some of the countries we work in. We want to hear from you and ultimately work together to fulfill the Hartman House mission of preventing poverty in the U.S. and developing nations. Please click around and find which projects relate to you most! Look back to our blog for the latest Hartman House news and stories.

Thank you,

Hartman House.
